The RITLUG talk on package managers was an introductory presentation on Linux package managers. They discussed the various package managers, their flaws and advantages. For each Linux distribution they covered what package managers are used.
It was pretty interesting, and I found many of the details discussed useful. One thing I really liked about the presentation is that it not only talked about OS package managers, but languages too, such as Python (pip), Ruby (RubyGems), and many others.
I strongly recommend reading through the presentation if any of these peaked your interest.
